Deep Impact® Zinc Bisglycinate is a daily zinc supplement made with 100% TRAACS® zinc bisglycinate from Albion®, USA. Each capsule provides 17mg elemental zinc from a fully chelated form, with no zinc oxide or zinc sulfate added to inflate the number on the label.

Bisglycinate means zinc is chemically bound to two glycine molecules. This chelated structure helps protect zinc from the compounds in food that block it, and helps your body absorb and tolerate it better. In a head-to-head trial, zinc bisglycinate was 43.4% more bioavailable than zinc gluconate, which is itself one of the better-absorbed standard forms. The form matters because a bigger milligram number does not automatically mean better absorption.

Zinc is one of the most commonly mislabelled minerals. Many products sold as "zinc bisglycinate" are zinc oxide or zinc sulfate mixed with glycine, and a standard lab test cannot tell the difference because both contain the same elements. TRAACS® uses FT-IR spectroscopy on every lot to confirm the zinc and glycine have genuinely bonded. Albion® has pioneered chelated minerals for over 70 years, holds more than 150 patents, and has run over 80 human clinical trials on its chelated minerals.

Zinc works inside more than 300 enzymes, more than any other trace mineral. It supports normal immune function, healthy skin, hair and nails, normal testosterone levels and fertility, protein synthesis and the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Your body cannot store zinc, so it needs a steady daily supply.

It matters more than for almost any other mineral. The Indian staples that supply most of our zinc, such as wheat, rice, dal, chickpeas and lentils, are also rich in phytates, which bind zinc in the gut and stop it being absorbed. That is why people can eat plenty of zinc containing food and still run low. National survey data found zinc deficiency in 32% of Indian adolescents. In animal studies using a phytate loaded, cereal based diet, zinc absorbed from zinc bisglycinate was measurably higher than from zinc sulphate.

Zinc is essential for the immune cells that do the everyday work of defending you, including T-cells, natural killer cells and neutrophils. When zinc runs low, those defences are among the first to weaken. Daily zinc supports normal immune function. It is a foundation to keep topped up, not a treatment for an infection once you have one.

Zinc supports normal skin and plays a direct part in skin repair and collagen formation. Research has consistently found lower zinc levels in people with acne than in people without it, and in a systematic review, zinc was beneficial in 10 of 14 acne studies. It is not an acne treatment, and skin takes time to renew, so give it at least 8 to 12 weeks of daily use.

Zinc contributes to normal testosterone levels and normal fertility, and it is the most concentrated trace mineral in the male reproductive system. If your zinc is low, as it often is on a plant based diet or with heavy training, restoring it supports normal levels. It will not push testosterone above normal if your zinc intake is already adequate.

Nausea is the most common complaint with zinc, especially zinc sulfate taken on an empty stomach. Zinc bisglycinate is one of the best tolerated forms. If you have a sensitive stomach, take it with a meal.

Take one capsule daily with water, ideally with a meal, or as directed by your healthcare professional. Keep it a couple of hours apart from iron and calcium supplements, which compete with zinc for absorption.

Yes. The formula uses an HPMC plant-derived capsule shell and contains no zinc oxide or zinc sulfate. Every ingredient is listed clearly because transparency should apply to the entire product, not only the active ingredient.

Zinc pairs well with magnesium and with Vitamin D3+K2. Keep it a couple of hours apart from iron and calcium. Avoid taking more than one zinc-containing product, as long-term excess zinc can reduce copper levels. Zinc can interact with certain medicines, including some antibiotics. Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or taking prescription medication should consult a healthcare professional before use.
