Deep Impact® Calcium Bisglycinate is a daily calcium supplement made with 100% TRAACS® calcium bisglycinate from Albion®, USA. Each capsule provides 180mg elemental calcium from a fully chelated form, with no calcium carbonate added to inflate the number on the label.

Bisglycinate means calcium is chemically bound to two glycine molecules. This chelated structure is absorbed through a different pathway from ordinary calcium salts. It does not need stomach acid to dissolve, and it stays protected from the compounds in food that block calcium. The form matters because the amount of calcium on the label is not the same as the amount your body absorbs.

TRAACS® is Albion®'s verified mineral-chelation system. Every lot is tested with FT-IR spectroscopy to confirm the calcium and glycine have genuinely bonded into a chelate. Some products sold under the same name are simply calcium carbonate mixed with glycine. Albion® has pioneered chelated minerals for over 70 years and holds more than 150 patents on the technology.

We formulated around usable calcium, not the largest possible number on the front of the pack. Calcium carbonate is 40% calcium by weight, which is why it can print a big number. But in human absorption research, only about 23% of calcium carbonate was absorbed, against 44% for calcium bisglycinate. A supplement is also meant to fill the gap in your diet, not replace it. Calcium absorbs best in moderate amounts at a time, and very large single doses bring more side effects without more benefit.

Around 99% of your body's calcium sits in your bones and teeth, where it maintains their strength and structure. The remaining 1% is constantly at work, triggering every muscle contraction, carrying nerve signals and supporting normal blood clotting. Your body keeps the calcium in your blood tightly controlled. If your intake falls short, it takes what it needs from your bones.

It is designed not to. Calcium carbonate needs stomach acid to dissolve, and that reaction releases carbon dioxide, which is the source of the gas, bloating and heaviness many people get. It also leaves more loose calcium in the gut, which is linked to constipation. Calcium bisglycinate does not need acid, does not release gas, and is absorbed intact, so far less calcium is left sitting in your intestine.

It is the best time to. Your bones reach their peak mass by around your early thirties, and that peak is the biggest single factor in how well they hold up later in life. A 2022 analysis of 43 randomised trials in people under 35 found calcium supplementation improved bone mineral density across the whole body and at the hip. The largest effect was in 20 to 35 year olds.

The concern in research relates mainly to large single doses of calcium carbonate taken without vitamin D, which can briefly spike the calcium level in your blood. Current guidance is to take calcium in moderate amounts, alongside vitamin D, and not above the recommended intake. That is how this product is formulated and meant to be used. If you have a heart condition, kidney stones or high blood calcium, please speak to your doctor before starting.

Take one capsule daily with water, with or without food, or as directed by your healthcare professional. It does not depend on stomach acid, so it absorbs well either way. For best results, take it alongside vitamin D. Keep it a few hours apart from iron supplements and thyroid medication.

Calcium works quietly. Unlike magnesium, there usually isn't a change you can feel within days. Bone density changes over many months and can only be measured with a scan. What most people notice early is what doesn't happen: no bloating, no constipation, no chalky aftertaste. Taking it consistently over months and years is what counts.

Yes. The formula uses an HPMC plant-derived capsule shell and contains no calcium carbonate, oyster shell or bone-derived calcium. Every ingredient is listed clearly because transparency should apply to the entire product, not only the active ingredient.

Yes. Calcium pairs especially well with Vitamin D3+K2: vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium, and K2 supports its use in bone. It can be taken alongside omega-3 and magnesium. Calcium can reduce the absorption of iron and zinc, so take those at a different time of day. Calcium can also interact with certain medicines, including thyroid medication and some antibiotics. Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, managing kidney disease or taking prescription medication should consult a healthcare professional before use.
